여민영

작가이자 예술가인 여민영은 서울대학교 조소과를 졸업한 후, 스톱모션 연출과 공연 대본 작가로 활발히 활동하고 있는 신진 예술인이다.​

그녀는 졸업 작품인 <작업쟁이와 삐에로> (스톱모션, 2024)로 BIAF(부천국제애니메이션페스티벌) 한국 단편 부문에 선정되었으며,

바르셀로나 스톱모션 영화제 베스트 스톱모션상을 수상하고, 펜실베니아 오픈 월드 페스티벌에 상영작으로 초청되는 등 국내외에서

주목을 받고 있다.​​ 

여민영은 애니메이션과 공연을 아우르는 다양한 장르에서 활동하며, 재학 시절 조소를 전공한 경험과 더불어 촬영 동아리에서의

지속적인 활동을 통해 축적한 시각적 감각을 바탕으로 자신만의 창작 세계를 확장해왔다.​ 떠오르는 생각을 놓치지 않기 위해 기록하는

습관을 지닌 그녀는, 앞으로의 작업이 더욱 기대되는 신선하고 독창적인 발상을 지닌 작가이다.​​​

Minyeong Yeo is an emerging artist and creator who graduated from the Department of Sculpture at Seoul National University. She is actively working as a stop-motion director and performance scriptwriter.

Her graduation film The Worker and the Pierrot (stop-motion, 2024) was selected for the Korean Short Film Competition at the Bucheon International Animation Festival (BIAF). It also received the Best Stop Motion Award at the Barcelona Stop Motion Film Festival and was officially selected for screening at the Pennsylvania Open World Festival, gaining recognition both domestically and internationally.

Yeo works across animation and performance, expanding her unique artistic world. Her background in sculpture, combined with her long-term involvement in a filmmaking club during her academic years, has contributed significantly to her strong visual sensibility.

With a habit of documenting fleeting ideas to capture inspiration, she is an artist with fresh and original perspectives, whose future work is highly anticipated.
